Little Mama

I got a call from my husband at work on Wednesday, April 2nd saying the paramedics were at my Mom's school with her.  They had been trying to call both my Dad and I but neither of us were answering our phones.  I quickly dropped everything, literally and headed towards the school.  I then found out that she was on her way to the ER and riding in an ambulance.  I calmly drove over to the hospital to meet mom and got there before she did.  She looked horrible and quite pitiful with her little oxygen mask on her little face.

Basically she was not feeling well and went to the nurses office and when they took her blood pressure and it was alarmingly low.  There was nothing that the nurse could do for her and everyone felt rather helpless and scared.

They kept her at the ER for a while.  Dad got there after he leisurely came to the hospital.  This is only funny if you actually know my Dad , this is totally him.  He stopped at the Food World to get a soda on his way, because he figured it would be a long day and then he stopped to collect found money.  He found 47 cents, he said he was gonna have to figure out how to pay for the ambulance trip somehow.  He's a mess!!!!!!!!

She has now been released, but is still not doing wonderful.  Yesterday, I got another call from the nurses office because Mom needed to be picked up from school.  She went to the nurses office to have her blood pressure checked and they then wouldn't let her move because it was so low.  The nurse and administrators also didn't want her staying at school or driving home and of course they couldn't find Dad again, so that is where I came in.   The funny thing to me is that when I got there, she was on the floor fitting perfectly on one of those children size cots.

She has gone to the doctor again and was on a Blood Pressure monitor for 24 hours and the results are: yes it is low and yes it is up and down.  I could have told the doctor that much.  She has only been diagnosed with something called disautonomia thus far.  Which is not a nothing they are just doing nothing, that is the issue.  It is a decrease in the autonomic nervous system which includes the blood pressure, oxygen, and heart rate.  The problem is that they really haven't done too much to treat it yet.  Therefore she is still suffering and we are watching her closely as she is sitting here with me watching tv.

For your enjoyment I did happen to totally trick her into having her picture taken, she was super pissed at me, but she will get over.  Although she does have a ton of pictures of me in the hospital so I guess I better watch it.
